Still kicking

Yeah, I'm still around. Haven't felt much like blogging the last couple of days, which is odd because I've had this bailout post percolating in my head all this time; I just haven't taken the time to put it down in pixels yet ... Plus I guess I pretty much ranted myself out Monday afternoon on that sucky radio show.

I'll give it a crack again tomorrow. I hear there's some kind of debate happening tomorrow night ...

What do you want, blood?

So I didn't post today. So sue me. I'm drunk and happy. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

Use this thread to make more fun of Sarah Palin. C'mon, it's so fucking easy to do!

Travel day

Heading to America's Taint™ for a few days. Can't think of anything to write at the moment.

Tell me what you did over the long holiday weekend. You already know what I did, or at least what I encountered ...

And maybe you can tell me why this sucky blog is suddenly getting a lot of hits from people looking for news about Rush Limbaugh's recent trip to a Mexican restaurant. Did the fat deaf drug addict mention it on his show or something?

Oh, and take a listen to yesterday's Blast Off! Radio if you have time. It was rant-a-riffic.

I got nothin'

Unusually stressful, busy, and unpleasant day thus far. So what's going on in your life?

Happy Hurricane Season, Florida!

As most Floridians know, June 1 marks the beginning of hurricane season, and indeed we already have our first tropical storm of the year, way down around Belize and the Yucatan peninsula. So, we're getting a quick start. Great.

I'm celebrating by having fun with friends today, like in real life. I know, it's hard to believe, but even this sucky blogger has a real life. Anyway, leave a comment -- say something pithy.

Tourist

I'm out and about in New York City today and, unlike some other bloggers I know, I don't have other folks with the keys.

So go listen to today's Blast Off! Radio show or something. Thanks in advance.

Spring forward

Anyone seen an hour laying around? I seem to have lost one overnight.

I'm still appalled that a Rethug actually is trying to bar the Democratic presidential candidate from the November ballot.

Besides that, I got nothin'. Except spring training baseball today with the kids.

Enjoy your day!

Still alive

I'm around, but in meetings all day today (and tomorrow). I'll probably have more to say tonight, but in the meantime, talk amongst yourselves.

Playoffs? PLAYOFFS?!?

Yep, it's the NFL playoffs, and I'm heading to Tampa today to see "my" Buccaneers take on the New York Giants.

So, light posting today, if any, from the ol' PDA. And I have a prediction that, to many, might be outlandish:

Bucs 31, Giants 10.

I just think the Bucs' defense will pressure Giants QB Eli Manning into a lot of mistakes. I'm calling four sacks and three interceptions. And with Giants-killer Jeff Garcia at quarterback, the Bucs can score some points. Garcia-to-Galloway for two TDs.

Probably outrageous, I know, but I just have a feeling ... and things have been going so well for me lately, I'm gonna ride the wave while it lasts.

So, comment and flame away to your heart's content. And laugh at me if I'm wrong ... but give me some props if I'm right, too. And don't rape any goats while I'm gone, okay? Thanks in advance.

No time to blog. Maybe tonight.

Go nuts on the comments. Say something pithy.

Kidz and football

Heading out with Jr. & Jrette. to watch the Local University Team take on University Team from Another State.

Talk amongst yourselves. If you're at the FDP convention in O-town, updates would be appreciated.

Home alone

I'm either participating in the national strike one week late or just restoring my mental health. Either way, I'm not keen on blogging at the moment.

So just tell me what's happening out there because, you know, like Drunky McStagger, I get all my news from my advisors.

I'll write something soon ... probably.

Undisclosed Location Blogging

Remember when I went to D.C. last month and I was all excited because I had mobile broadband and could liveblog anywhere? Remember that I now have Internet access anywhere I have cell phone access?

Well, I got to my hotel today ... no wireless, and somehow I managed to leave my mobile broadband device at home. I am officially a dumbass.

Fortunately, there's a business center with free computer use. So, here's my undisclosed location blogging for now. I'll be home tomorrow night, and then the major undisclosed location blogging takes place next week. In the meantime, have an open thread, and enjoy the views from my hotel balcony.

This is facing west ...

And this is a bit closer, just below my room.

Life gets in the way

... of blogging, that is.

Busy weekend with the Sinfoniettes and football. Bucs 24 Rams 10: that's my prediction for today.

Oh, I need to tell you that Blast Off! Radio is moving to a new time beginning tomorrow. Listen live starting at 2:00 pm Eastern time every Monday for the snarkiest snark in Snarkville. Link is on the left -- bookmark it now and beat the rush!

In the meantime, have an open thread, but don't let it go to waste ...

Blast Off! Radio tomorrow, plus segment today

Here come Radio Days again ...

Today at 2:00 pm Eastern, Florida Progressive Radio cranks up with Florida House candidate Michael Calderin as a guest. Listen live or later on the archives. My segment, featuring the Weekly Schadenfreude and a Very Special Rant today, will begin shortly after 2:50 Eastern, time permitting.

Tomorrow at 12:30 pm Eastern, it's time once again for Blast Off! Radio, in its normal format and time slot. Call in to (646) 716-7543, IM on AOL Instant Messenger to blastoffradio, or e-mail to blastoffradio-at-gmail-dot-com. And if you think you'll forget, don't worry -- I'll pimp it a lot more tonight and tomorrow! :)

Meanwhile, today I'm with the childrenz, so here, have an open thread. Scroll down and look at the D-FUCKED caucuses and other news ... and don't forget about tomorrow's PDB blogswarm.

Sick day

I'm alive, but not feeling very well today, hence my silence. I've barely had the energy to do basic things, let alone spend a lot of time reading news and blogs. Please forgive my absence today.

Maybe I could turn this blog over to you for a little while. What happened today that I missed? What's on your mind? Rant and report to your heart's content in Comments.

Back soon -- health permitting.

Boa viagem!

That's "Bon voyage!" in Portuguese.

I'm off to Brazil for a few days, for a friend's wedding. The flight from Miami to São Paulo tonight will take eight hours, then there's one more connection to my destination. I should arrive about 9:30 local time (8:30 Eastern time) tomorrow morning. Barring complications, I'll be back in the U.S. on Monday evening.

So, unless I have oodles of time at the Miami airport (which is a possibility), I probably won't be posting again till tomorrow morning at the earliest -- of course I'll have Internet access at my hotel! Would you expect otherwise?

In the meantime, have an open thread, and while I'm gone, please don't shoot anyone in the face.

Adeus para agora!

Homeward bound

I haven't been online in about 48 hours. Now I'm at the airport awaiting my flight home. I'll try to get some pictures posted if I can tonight.

Did I miss anything while I was away?

And does anyone need anything from the duty free shop?

*****

Oh, and I thought this was interesting, if disconcerting: a popular T-shirt saying (I saw it on aprons and such, too) here -- I'm in Cozumel, Mexico -- is:

I'M SHY
But I have a big dick

I mean, it's ubiquitous. I even saw servers wearing it, though admittedly no tourists.

As for me, I can't imagine wearing something like that.

After all, as anyone who knows me can attest, I'm not the least bit shy.

Vacation

Yes, I'm alive, and yes, I may have to take a hiatus from blogging until Sunday night. I've yet to discover Internet access where I am and so am reduced to posting by email from my Blackberry, which is not the most efficient way to maintain a blog.

So, I humbly beseech your patience during this break, and please keep checking back. I'll be my old snarky self again soon.
