Hockey en Mexico

I mentioned a celebrity encounter downstairs ... and here it is:

As an avid (some might say "rabid") St. Louis Blues fan since about 1992, it was a pretty big deal for me to meet Brett Hull, one of the all time greats in the NHL and almost assuredly the greatest Blue ever. I met him at a bar in downtown Cabo, and he was quite gracious and friendly.

I'm the good-looking one on the left. :)

Travelogue: Cabo San Lucas

Yes, I know this blog has been woefully short on politics for the last few days, but if you were around scenery like this (taken from my hotel), couldn't you forget about wanton Republican destruction of our government and society for just a while?

Once I can get the picture from one of the other conference attendees (I didn't have my camera with me last night), I'll share my Celebrity Encounter. Here's a teaser: if you like hockey, you'll love this one.

South of the border

For those both of you who were concerned, I made it safely to Mexico. It's just spectacular here, where I'm almost exactly halfway between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas (hence the term "Los Cabos"), on the very tip of Baja California.

The hotel has wireless in the lobby area -- yea! -- so I'll post pictures and such as soon as possible (probably tomorrow).

Plus the margaritas are muy excellente ...
