Hamell on Trial

Remember when I went to Philadelphia last month for Eschacon08? And I had the privilege of emceeing the amazing and hilarious show on Saturday night that weekend?

Well, turns out the headliner from that show, Hamell on Trial, is available online. I mean, he is, yeah, but so's the actual show from that night, in crisp, clear stereo. And it was one of the most brilliant, funniest sets I've ever seen.

Of course, if you listen, you'll have to endure my intro and wrap-up, but on the other hand, the latter gives you a chance to hear me say "fuck" in public. That ought to be worth the price of admission right there.

UPDATE (12:42 pm 4/20/08): In response to The Kenosha Kid in comments and others around the internets, I don't know nothin' about the "flac" format. It works on my laptop, but then, it's not a Mac. The link above does offer the show in .mp3 format, though, so even the Mac-bots among you should be able to partake of Hamell's humor (and mine?).

Trainblogging

Greetings from the Amtrak train between Philadelphia and New York City. My first visit to NYC since 1987 ... I hear it's changed somewhat.

Eschacon finished up today with a brunch, then racymind and I spent some time with my Philly-resident cousins before catching the train. Good times were had by all.

Stay tuned for photographic goodness and more.

Philadelphia interlude

While we take a break at Eschacon, have some Philadelphia freedom.

And for Philadelphia native Marcellina, presently ensconced in Austria, here's City Hall as seen from the ballroom window right behind me.

On my way

Well, I'm on my way to Philadelphia for Eschacon08 or, as I like to call it, "Eschacon II: Electoral Boogaloo."

More to come this afternoon from the Keystone State -- stay tuned.

Haute couture

I'd just like to compliment and thank NYMary, guru, organizer, and chief bottlewasher for Eschacon08, for her exquisite taste in designing the Official T-Shirt for the event.

First "Huggy Bear" goes global, now this. I'm just happy to contribute ...

No McW

As part of Blast Off!'s ongoing efforts to make sure that every voter knows exactly how tight Huggy Bear and his BFF Drunky McStagger are, I bring to your attention some new stickers, not unlike the "No W" stickers that have been around for a while.

Click on the images if you want to get free stickers; they're giving one of each away to the first thousand who request them. I'm being sent some extras, too, for distribution at Eschacon II: Electric Blogaloo.

It's a good way to remind folks that a vote for Huggy Bear is a vote for more of the same shit we've endured from the Bush crime syndicate for seven years.
