Tea Party II: Predictably, racism and hate carry the day
One word to describe the latest Teabaggers' Ball here in Pensacola: FAIL.
This wasn't an event so much as a sign-waving exercise in political masturbation. Scheduled for noon until 2:00 pm at a major intersection in the north part of town, it wasn't anything like the first "tea party," back on April 15. For one thing, they didn't have an open mic like last time ...
Instead, what it amounted to was about 30 people or so with nothing better to do on the Memorial Day holiday than stand on a street corner and wave signs. Oh, not just any signs: racist, hateful signs. I guess these friendless loners just need to be with their own kind ... mostly older, all white, and uniformly ignorant.
Anyway, remember how they said these tea parties were nonpartisan events intended to protest government spending? And I asked the logical question, well, if they were protesting government spending, why did they start protesting only when Barack Obama became president, rather than when Drunky McStagger was raising spending to unprecedented levels? My conclusion was that they actually were protesting the fact that a black man -- indeed, this black man -- is president. Indeed, today's event was no different.

Here's a look at the massive pathetic crowd gathering of protestors loser teabaggers who showed up in Pensacola today. Other than a handful sitting or standing near their vehicles, parked off to the right in this picture, this was it.

This guy made a point of concealing his face with his handheld sign as I went to photograph the "Axis of Evil" sign. Originally, I just wanted to photograph that one, but since he was so obvious about hiding his identity, I went for the whole vignette.

Somewhere in Pensacola, an illiterate dumbshit woman can't spell "ITS." And, no, that's not the least bit racist, is it? This sign is totally appropriate for a nonpartisan protest against government spending. Totally.

Another sampling of signs. Again, it's totally appropriate and justifiable at a nonpartisan protest against government spending to have a sign demanding to see a "birth certificate" (at left). Nope, they're not racist, obsessive Obama-haters. Not at all.
I cordially invite all the teabaggers to just come right out and admit that these protests are directed against President Obama and, in particular, the fact that he is not white. These admissions can start with John W. Baker, who gave me his business card calling himself "Tea Party Organizer" for an organization called "Pensacola Patriots" and invited me to join them at the next tea party on July 4. (No, he didn't know who I was, although he suggested I "save [my] film" and check out the pictures on their website. Guess he's never heard of digital cameras ...)
Which reminds me: what's truly sad is that these losers chose Memorial Day, of all days, to conduct a ridiculous, illogical, meaningless protest against the government that some of them fought -- and some of their loved ones, I expect, died -- to preserve. Way to shit all over their memories, teabaggers. And they call themselves "patriots" ... which is laughable.
