A sucky blog makes a big noise
If you're out there in the blogosphere and think you can't make a difference from where you sit, wherever you are, I'm here to tell you to think again.
Blast Off!'s Debbie Wasserman Schultz post on Tuesday drew front-page attention yesterday at DailyKos from Kos himself, and it's also reached Democratic Underground, Memeorandum, and the Washington Post among others. While it's important that the information gets out regarding Rep. Wasserman Schultz's refusal to campaign against her friends, I hope we don't lose sight of the larger message: blogs and bloggers can make a real impact in providing the much-needed progressive viewpoint that the mainstream corporate media generally lacks.
UPDATE (7:02 am 3/20/08): Add Discourse and Swing State Project to the list above. Ironically, the post on SSP immediately before their Wasserman Schultz post is a listing of the DCCC's 90 "targeted races" ... pointedly including FL-18, FL-21, and FL-25 -- the Miami districts of the Three Hyphenated Stooges.
UPDATE (10:19 am 3/20/08): Add The Sideshow to the list, too. The lovely and talented Avedon Carol always has been generous about reading Blast Off! and linking to it; her place should be a regular stop for all progressive-minded blog-type folks.
