Happy Mother's Day
Let's take a look at what Mothers More Famous Than You are doing today. It's that time of year again, time to honor Mom.So remember all that when your ungrateful kids do something thoroughly inadequate today. You do and do and do for those kids, and this is the thanks you get?
And if she happens to be Tiffany Shepherd [(right)] - the Port St. Lucie teacher fired recently for what she believes is her other job, bikini-waitressing on a fishing boat - then it's probably good just to slow down. She has spread herself real thin since shooting to fame, including negotiating with Playboy.
"My boys are 9, 6 and 2," she says, "so Mother's Day is very special. My 2-year-old had a twin whom I lost during the pregnancy. It's a day to think about a lot of things."
She and her sons will spend some time at the beach in Fort Pierce before heading to Crawdaddy's in Jensen for a big meal.
The photogenic lady says she hasn't decided yet whether she'll do the nude pictorial.
"It's a tougher decision than people think, but if I do it, it'll definitely be for the boys," she said, meaning her sons.
Former model Melania Trump, meanwhile, says all she wants for her special day is to spend time with her babies.
"I really have two," she says, "a big one (Donald Trump) and a little one (2-year-old Barron).
"We still don't have the routine Mother's Day. We're in our country home in Bedminster (N.J., home of another Trump golf course). We'll play golf, have a nice lunch. Forget presents. I just want to be with my family."
Down south, Seinfeld star Jason Alexander's mom echoed what moms all over the world, including Page Two's, utter every year: "You shouldn't have!"
"My three children are spread all over," says Coconut Creek resident Ruth Greenspan, "so I don't expect them to visit. But I'll be getting flowers from all over the place."
At 88, Greenspan says the chubby actor stopped by two weeks ago on his way to Australia to kick off a stand-up comedy tour.
"The flowers? Don't ask, it's disgusting. All that money spent on me. I tell the kids not to waste money on flowers. Just donate it to charity."
Palm Beach County Commish Mary McCarty, however, does hold the flowers when it comes to honoring her mom, political operative Jeanne Ray.
"She likes coffee, so I get a $100 gift certificate to Dunkin' Donuts," McCarty says. "I also got her a gift card to a clothing store. And since she made it clear that she loves Barbara Walters, I bought her Barbara's latest book."
Happy Mother's Day, Mom. Of course, if my mom ever actually read this blog, I'd be in big trouble.
