Today's Daily Schadenfreude: Karl Rove
Oh, happy day. Bush's Brain is leaving the building.* Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, douchebag:
Karl Rove, President Bush's longtime political adviser, is resigning as White House deputy chief of staff effective Aug. 31, and returning to Texas, marking a turning point for the Bush presidency. You know the old saying about rats abandoning a sinking ship? When the King Rat leaves, you know it's bad. Or, from my perspective, it's goooooood.
Mr. Rove's departure removes one of the White House's most polarizing figures, and perhaps signals the effective end of the lame duck administration's role in shaping major domestic policy decisions. Mr. Rove revealed his plans in an interview with Paul Gigot, editor of The Wall Street Journal's editorial page.
You had a good run, Karl, but the higher you fly, the farther you fall. See you when you're indicted, pal. In the meantime, congratulations, because today's Blast Off! Daily Schadenfreude is for you!
* Arguably, Drunky McStagger never really had a brain.
